Since Studio One 5.3, MPE support has been added for VST3 plugins. This means that now all ROLI plugins are MPE-compatible with this DAW - finally enabling full per-note expression for Equator2 and ROLI Studio.

Enabling MPE in Presonus Studio One 5 is a quick and simple process. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Adding the Seaboard as an MPE controller

1. Connect your Seaboard to your computer and open Presonus Studio One 5.

2. Navigate to the "Studio One" menu and select "Preferences."

3. In the "Preferences" menu, select "External Devices" from the top menu.

4. Click the "Add" button to add a new external device.

5. From the left-hand list, select "ROLI" then "Seaboard RISE" or "Seaboard BLOCK" depending on your model.

6. Select your Seaboard from the "Receive From" menu.

7. Check the "Enable MPE" box.

8.  Click "OK" to save your settings.

Adding an MPE plugin

Now your Seaboard is added as an MPE controller, let's add an MPE VST3 plugin - like Equator2 - and set it to enable MPE.

1. In Studio One 5, create a new song.

2. Add Equator2, or any other MPE-compatible plugin to a track in your project.

3. Click the keyboard icon to open the plugin window.

4. In the top-left corner of the plugin window, click the drop-down menu with the plugin's name and select "Enable MPE"

That's it! You have now set up an MPE-ready MIDI controller, added an MPE-ready plugin and enabled MPE in the plugin to play with full per-note expression in Studio One 5.3+.
