Setting up your Seaboard M with Ableton Live 12 is pretty straightforward, and since Live 12 is built for MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression), you can take full advantage of the expressive capabilities of the Seaboard M and MPE software instruments like Equator2. Here's how to get started:

1. Connect your Seaboard M to your computer using a USB cable or Bluetooth (Mac only).

2. Open ROLI Dashboard and select 'MPE' as the MIDI mode.

3. Open Ableton Live and go to Settings > Link, Tempo, MIDI

4. In the MIDI Ports section, make sure that the Seaboard M has both 'Track' and 'MPE' ticked.

*The Seaboard M may appear as “Seaboard BLOCK M” in Ableton’s MIDI settings.

5. Create a new MIDI track in Ableton Live and select your preferred MPE-ready virtual instrument - such as Equator2.

6. Right-click the plugin panel and select 'Enable MPE Mode'

7. Open the plugin, select a preset from the MPE category, arm the MIDI track for recording and start playing your ROLI Seaboard 2. You should hear the sound of your selected virtual instrument and have full 5D touch expression.

With these simple steps, you can set up your ROLI Seaboard M with Ableton Live 12 and start using MPE to create expressive and dynamic music. If you encounter any issues, be sure to contact the Support Team for further assistance. Happy music-making!
